MELISA FLANAGAN

Melisa Flanagan is a Chinese American artist and designer in Portland, Oregon.

Born in Chinatown, San Francisco, Flanagan received a B.S. in Natural Resources Management & Engineering and a M.S. in Geographic Information Systems & Remote Sensing from the University of Connecticut; a B.F.A. in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute; and a M.Arch from Portland State University. From 2006 to 2014, she provided design and fabrication services to various artists, architects and design firms. In 2014, Flanagan founded the design consultancy, Big Thought Projects, supporting small- to medium-sized organizations with strategy, systems, and data visualization services. Big Thought Projects is MBE, WBE and ESB certified.
